The Lavazza MilkEasy is a product of in-house design, an integral part of the Lavazza A MODO MIO product line. Its classical appearance and simple operability are its defining features. The compact shape and formal language, along with the gently curved side profile, are reminiscent of a traditional milk bottle. The horizontal ribs impart structure to the cylindrical body, visually connecting it to other products in the family.

This elegant frother prepares a wide range of milk-based beverages at the touch of a button. It can make cold and hot milk froth or hot milk. The backlit button, emphasized by a coloured ring, allows it to be chromatically linked to other Lavazza products. The magnetic whisk is removable, and the coated vessel can be rinsed and cleaned easily. The transparent lid allows users to check the progress of the preparation at any time, and the metal ring on top adds precision and cleanliness when pouring.

The Lavazza MilkEasy is made from plastic (ABS) with textured and glossy finishing. The logo is pad printed, and the milk container is coated. The product dimensions are 96mm / 96mm / 173mm, and it weighs 0.9kg. It has a minimum milk capacity of 60 ml, a maximum capacity for milk frothing of 120 ml, and a maximum capacity for milk heating of 180 ml. The removable parts are dishwasher safe, and the product comes nicely boxed along with a Quick Start Guide and a more detailed instruction booklet.

The product is incredibly easy and intuitive to use. It has a small footprint, fitting in any space. The user inserts the magnetic whisk and adds milk to the desired level. After placing the frother on its base and closing the transparent lid to avoid splashes, the preparation starts by pressing the backlit stop&go button. For cold milk froth, the button can be pressed and held for three seconds. After a quick frothing cycle, the frother will beep twice, and the user can simply pour the frothed milk to enjoy a delicious cappuccino or latte.

The project was designed in Turin, Italy, and the complete product development process took about 15 months. The development process involved conceptual and formal research, 3D modelling, physical mock-ups, and prototyping. One of the key challenges was to guarantee ergonomics and internal milk container volume.
